Israeli representative to UN urges attention to Zelenskyy's warning on threat of Iran and Russia to world
The Israeli diplomat reminded that many Ukrainian civilians died because of the Shahed drones that Iran had supplied to Moscow
Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, said this at a special meeting of the UN Security Council on the Iranian massive attack.
Speaking of Iran's attack on Israel, Gilad Erdan compared Tehran's actions to the Third Reich, and Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to Hitler. He also noted that "everything the current Iranian government touches is a threat."
The Israeli representative to the UN underscored Iran's active pursuit of nuclear weapons and the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles, highlighting the potential global threat posed by the use of such weapons.
Erdan also reminded that a significant number of Ukrainian civilians have been killed as a result of regular air attacks by Russia, including through Shahed attack drones that Tehran has supplied to Moscow.
The Israeli diplomat added that President Zelenskyy condemned the Iranian attack from the previous night, stating that "The sound of 'Shahed' drones, a tool of terror, is the same in the skies over the Middle East and Europe. This sound must serve as a wake-up call to the free world." The diplomat urged listeners to heed President Zelenskyy's message.
- On the night of Saturday to Sunday, Iran launched drones and missiles at Israel.
- On Sunday, April 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to Western countries to "not turn a blind eye" to Russian terrorist attacks on the territory of Ukraine. He condemned Iran's attack on Israel and added that Ukraine is well aware of the horror of similar attacks by Russia, which uses the same Shahed drones and Russian missiles.
