Diplomat Volodymyr Ohryzko, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (2007-2009) and head of the Center for Russian Studies, believes that there is a positive aspect to Xi Jinping's May 9 visit to Moscow, as it will finally make the West realize that China is one of the elements of the axis of evil

He shared his opinions on Espreso TV.

"Regarding Xi Jinping's May 9 visit to Moscow, I think this is a joint game against the Americans, and it’s a symbolic one. Xi and Putin want to tell the Western world, 'We’re still alive, and we will fight you.' In my opinion, this is a positive moment, as it will help the West finally understand that China is also one of the elements of this axis of evil. And when Trump says he had a great conversation with Xi, that was a long time ago, and today China is really helping Russia in the war against Ukraine," the diplomat noted.

He believes that this visit by China's leader to Moscow may finally give Trump a clear understanding that Xi is not on his side, but "on the side of the barbarians and criminals."

"If Trump sees China as his main competitor, he needs to do everything to weaken it, including taking out one by one, like quails in hunting, China's vassals: Russia, North Korea, and Iran. As for Kim Jong-Un, Trump is living in memories from five years ago, when he had some success and shook hands with Kim, but after that, North Korea has gone down the path of rearmament, gaining a new quality that now threatens the U.S.," concluded Volodymyr Ohryzko.

  • On February 10, it was announced that the leader of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, agreed to participate in the Victory Day celebrations, which will take place in Moscow on May 9, 2025.
