Wizz Air ready to resume flights with Ukraine within six weeks after ceasefire

He said this in an interview with Reuters.

Varadi noted that the company plans to resume about 30 routes within six weeks after the airspace is reopened.

"We have a firm plan for the restart of Ukraine, because I think it can happen any moment," said the CEO of Wizz Air. 

According to him, after the official announcement of the ceasefire, the company will consider the possibility of resuming flights as soon as possible.

The Wizz Air CEO also added that, according to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), it will take six to eight weeks to safely reopen Ukraine's airspace. The airline is already preparing for this process.

Within the first six months after the end of hostilities, Wizz Air plans to reopen its bases in Kyiv and Lviv. The initial plan is to operate 60 routes with an annual capacity of about 5 million passengers.

Before the outbreak of the full-scale war, Wizz Air was the third largest airline in the Ukrainian market with a share of 10.1%.
