'F-16s in Ukraine are symbolic gesture soon to be destroyed': world media fakes for August 6
The Center for Countering Disinformation has published a compilation of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations launched by the world media on August 6
According to Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation, disinformation and manipulation appeared in the world on August 6.
Disinformation: American entrepreneur David Sacks wrote on his X page: “If the U.S. gets into a war with Iran, Russia (and maybe China) will use Iran as a proxy to weaken America, in the same way that America sought to use Ukraine as a proxy to weaken Russia.”
Rebuttal: David Sacks is trying to discredit U.S. aid to Ukraine by using the Kremlin's narrative of Ukraine as a "puppet of the West". In fact, U.S. assistance allows Ukraine to counter Russian aggression and protect its citizens from Russian terrorist attacks.
Manipulation: Discussing the arrival of the first F-16s in Ukraine, CIA analyst Larry Johnson said, “This is more a symbolic gesture, but it's going to be a futile symbolic gesture because I think it will be taken out. They'll be destroyed pretty quickly .”
Rebuttal: This is part of a Russian information campaign aimed at discrediting the supply of F-16s to Ukraine. In fact, F-16s significantly enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities and increase its chances of successfully defending its territory.
