Will we finally succeed in finishing the Revolution of Dignity?
Four years ago, the first round of the presidential election was held, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy won
What happened then? I believe it was the second (peaceful) stage of the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014, people took it to the streets demanding not only justice or a return to the European path. People took it to the streets to change the system of power in the country. In 2019, people demanded the same changes. However, with one big difference. In 2019, the social contract changed. And then it sounded like this: "Let's give this guy a chance, and if he fails, we will leave this country."
The main problem of the state at that time was not corruption, as many believe, or poverty. The main problem was the catastrophic gap between the individual and the state.
“The war changed the social contract and allowed the consolidation of society around the state. For the first time in 30 years, the bulk of society began to associate itself with the state. This is a huge price we pay for this war and the worst thing would be to lose this unity”
The war changed the social contract and allowed the consolidation of society around the state. For the first time in 30 years, the bulk of society began to associate itself with the state. This is a huge price we pay for this war and the worst thing would be to lose this unity.
After the war ends, politicians will be asked the following questions:
-
What have you been doing since 02/24/22?
-
Do you have the moral right to engage in reconstruction?
-
Do you have the intellectual and moral capacity to pull us out of this economic abyss?
In fact, the right or wrong answers to these questions will determine one and only one thing: whether we will finally be able to finish the Revolution of Dignity. Because after the war, the social contract "Let’s give them a chance and flee in case it does not work out" will remain, but become much more frightening than in 2019.
And finally. I will delete any primitive bot comments. The problems we are facing are so global that to reduce them to "You're the stupid one" quarrels means to say goodbye to another 3 to 5 million people.
Unfortunately, this is exactly what most current politicians want to reduce the discussion to.
