White House announces new military aid package for Ukraine worth USD 2.5 billion
The White House has announced a new USD 2.5 billion military aid package for Ukraine, including Avenger air defense systems, Bradley and Stryker vehicles, and HIMARS ammunition
This is stated on the US Department of Defense's website.
The aid package includes 8 Avenger air defense systems, 59 additional Bradley and 90 Stryker armored vehicles, 350 Humvee armored vehicles, 53 MRAP mine protection vehicles, HIMARS ammunition, artillery and much more.
Earlier, the aid package was clarified by the Voice of America journalist Ostap Yarysh.
The full list of assistance includes:
- additional rockets for NASAMS
- 8 Avenger air defense systems
- 59 Bradley + 590 anti-tank missiles
- 90 Stryker armored vehicles
- 53 vehicles with MRAP mine protection
- 20,000 shells for 155 mm artillery
- 11,800 mortar 120 mm shells
- additional missiles for HIMARS
- 12 vehicles for ammunition
- 6 command and staff vehicles
- 22 tactical weapons transport vehicles
- HARM anti-radar missiles
- about 2,000 anti-tank missiles
- 3 million rounds of small arms
- explosive equipment
- Claymore anti-personnel mines
- night vision devices
- spare parts and other equipment
The US Department of Defense added that total US security assistance to Ukraine has amounted to more than USD 27.4 billion since the beginning of the Biden administration, including more than USD 26.7 billion since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.

The day before, on January 19, the Associated Press reported that the United States was finalizing a large package of military aid to Ukraine, probably worth USD 2.6 billion.
