What distinguishes Russia from Christian culture?
In the Russian prison culture, a person is judged by one deed in his life, and all other deeds do not matter
In European Christian culture, a person is judged after death by the totality of his life's deeds. Sin is covered by repentance and active correction of what has been done.

In the Russian prison culture, a person is judged by one deed in his life, and all other deeds are irrelevant. Disgrace is irrevocable and cannot be reversed, the entire set of past and future life actions is nullified at the same time. This system of ideas is rooted in ancient pre-Christian Indo-European beliefs, remnants of which can be found among the Roma, for example.
