We have too few of them — Polish Defense Ministry on possibility of transferring F-16 to Ukraine
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak avoided a direct answer to the question about transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine in the case the US approves their re-export
This is informed by PAP.
"We have too few of them, only 48. It is a pity that a larger contract was not chosen when making the decision to purchase," the minister said when asked whether Poland would transfer fighter jets to Ukraine.
Blaszczak emphasized that "it was Polish pressure" on NATO member states that helped Ukraine receive Patriot air defense systems and Leopard tanks.
According to the official, the war in Ukraine will not end soon. At the same time, Blaszczak emphasized that Poland will always support its neighbors in the east, because "free Ukraine means free Poland."
"If Putin takes Ukraine, he will not stop there. The late President Lech Kaczynski understood this, and each of us should understand it," the Polish Defense Minister emphasized.
