We are preparing for difficult stage of bloody fighting - military expert Zgurets
Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets says that Ukrainians should prepare for serious challenges, as the offensive won't be easy
He said this on Espreso TV.
“We have created a certain warm bath in the perception of the combat operations we are about to conduct. Indeed, we have had two successful offensive campaigns to liberate a large part of our territory, but the situation is different now. The enemy has also drawn conclusions: the number of enemy troops on the contact line has increased, and they are also using attack drones on a large scale. Now the confrontation continues on many levels. We have to prepare ourselves for serious challenges, because our offensive will not be easy. First of all, society needs to prepare for this, because the military understands the responsibility and complexity of combat events. Politicians and experts can talk about how easy it is to draw the movement of Ukrainian units on a map,” the military analyst said.
Serhiy Zgurets emphasized that none of the military says that the enemy is stupid and will run away from the frontline.
“The enemy is now more prepared. We are preparing for a difficult stage of bloody fighting associated with our offensive operation. This operation will last at least several months, and maybe until the fall. The offensive will cause significant losses, including for the Ukrainian side, because the one who advances loses more. The important thing is to combine understanding of reality, the resilience of society, and promoting more things at the front, such as drones, communication systems, electronic warfare equipment, and so on. I would like to note that we are now moving further to the main lines of defense of the enemy, which he is preparing to defend. Breaking through these defense lines will not be an easy task. We need to prepare for different situations on the battlefield, because war is unpredictable, no matter what politicians and experts say,” said Zgurets.
