Water level in Kherson and Mykolaiv region drops overnight
The water level in the Kherson region and Mykolaiv, flooded as a result of Kakhovka HPP dam explosion, has dropped
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, and Oleksandr Sienkevych, the mayor of Mykolaiv, announced this on their Telegram channels.
Situation in the Kherson region
It has been reported that the water level in the Kherson region dropped by 26 centimeters overnight and currently stands at 4 meters 19 centimeters.
According to Prokudin, 32 previously occupied areas are still flooded, with 3,784 houses submerged in water. The water is gradually receding, and in the morning, it reached a level of 4 meters 19 centimeters. This represents a decrease of 26 centimeters compared to the previous measurement.
Additionally, Prokudin stated that 2,716 people were evacuated from the right bank of the region. However, on the left bank, the situation is not improving as expected. The rate of water receding has slowed down, and evacuation efforts have been unsuccessful. The occupiers are seizing boats from people and using them to navigate the flooded houses, looting any remaining possessions. This demonstrates the recurring tactics of terror and looting employed by the Russians.
Situation in Mykolaiv
As of Sunday morning, June 11, the water level in the Mykolaiv water area is 69 centimeters.
According to the mayor, the water level has decreased by 15 centimeters.
"At 9:00 a.m., the current water level in Mykolaiv's water area is +69 cm," said Sienkevych.
