Over the course of the week, many positional battles took place along the entire front line from Luhansk to Kherson, with no significant changes to the contact line.

Map of hostilities in Avdiivka

The Avdiivka assault has entered its third month. The Russians have changed their tactics. Instead of using a large number of vehicles, they are now attacking in "human waves''. Accordingly, the daily number of enemies killed has increased significantly. During the week, several times it was more than a thousand a day. And on November 20, the Ukrainian Armed Forces updated their daily record - they killed 1380 Russian invaders, many of whom were prisoners or convicts. In addition, instead of tanks and armored personnel carriers, a large number of drones have appeared in the sky, thanks to which the invading Russian forces are succeeding in breaking through Ukrainian defense lines.

In particular, over the past week, the enemy managed to break through on the southern outskirts of the city, near the road junction between Avdiivka and Yasynuvata, as well as near the Tsarska Okhota restaurant. Further to the west, the Ukrainian Armed Forces held back the occupiers near the villages of Opytne and Sievierne without making any progress.

Instead, the situation on the northern front from the city has changed for the worse. Here, the Russian forces are simultaneously advancing in three directions. Firstly, they are expanding their control zone north of Krasnohorivka towards Novokalynove. Secondly, they continue to advance on the village of Stepove, having previously overcome an obstacle in the form of a railway embankment.

At the same time, the Defense Forces launched several successful counterattacks and pushed the invaders back to the east. However, the most dangerous for the city's defense was the attack on the buildings of the coke plant, near the previously seized slag heap. Russian media loudly boasted about the seizure of the premises, but in fact Ukrainian soldiers managed to repel the attack and regain control. Fierce fighting continues in this area. There are many signs that the Russian invaders are preparing for a third powerful wave of attack on Avdiivka.

News from Bakhmut front

For the third week in a row, invading Russian forces have been trying to regain control of Klishchiivka, which they have not publicly announced they have lost. This week, they have been actively advancing from the north, where they managed to gain several hundred meters, as well as from the direction of Andriivka, where they entered the gray zone east of the cascade of lakes.

To the north of Bakhmut, where the Russians had earlier made their way a kilometer from Berkhivka and Yahidne towards Bohdanivka and Khromove, the situation has now been stabilized.

Map of active hostilities in the Donetsk region

Several areas of the frontline that had been stable for a long time saw fighting followed by a shift in the contact line. In particular, Russian invaders managed to advance to the southern outskirts of Novomykhailivka. Earlier, they tried to bypass Vuhledar in this way, but were unsuccessful. We are likely to see another attempt.

Instead, for the first time since 2014, the Ukrainian Armed Forces made their way to the outskirts of Horlivka, where they took control of the slag heap. The Russian forces, on the other hand, lost control over a several-kilometer area.

Map of Ukraine's counteroffensive in Kherson region

Strange events continue to unfold on the left bank of the Dnipro, accompanied by equally unexpected statements from the military.

For example, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine suggested that the Russian forces "will try to regroup in the Kherson region by retreating from the Dnipro bank and consolidating on new lines."

The other day, it was reported that they are already preparing to move the headquarters from Oleshky to Velyki Kopani, 24 kilometers from the Dnipro riverbed.

Earlier, the General Staff stated that the primary task of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the estern (left) bank is to move the contact line 15-20 km away from the river. This, they say, will help to protect the civilian population of the right-bank Kherson region. At the same time, it will also create a wide foothold for the deployment of troops for a counteroffensive against Crimea. However, this is still a long way off, as the fighting is still ongoing south and east of Krynky, as well as in the area of the villages of Pidstepne and Poima. In this way, the Defense Forces are trying to push the invaders towards the Oleshky Desert, where they will not be able to gain a foothold, and the Armed Forces will gain a foothold over 20 km wide and in some places the same amount of depth.

This could be realized if the logistics corridor from Crimea is interrupted. In this regard, the report of the transfer of one HIMARS system with an unknown modification of the launcher to the United States is interesting. It is possible that these are longer-range missiles.

Sharp shots fired at Russian-held territories

In Kreminna, an advisor to the governor of the Oryol region made a video about the unloading of humanitarian aid for the military. The next day, explosions occurred there.

In Starobeshevo, Donetsk region, 40 kilometers from the front, officers lined up marines to congratulate them on the day of the missile forces. Ukrainian rocket scientists also came to visit with gifts...

Near Tokmak, a team of Shark and Switchblade 600 drones destroyed a Russian air defense unit.

The maps were created based on information received from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as from other open and verified sources. At the same time, the maps are not as accurate as possible and only conditionally reflect trends in the war zone.
