Legislative changes adopted in the United States allow prosecution of war crimes suspects

US Attorney General Merrick Garland said this during the United for Justice international conference in Lviv, Ukrinform reports.
"Until recently, our jurisdiction over war crimes was limited... After the start of Russian aggression, Congress passed amendments to the law that would allow us to prosecute alleged war criminals identified in the United States from anywhere in the world, and we plan to do so," he said.
Garland explained that any person who is in the United States can be prosecuted.
