War crimes have been committed, defeat is inevitable — Navalny urges Russia to withdraw troops from Ukraine and pay reparations
Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has called for the return of all occupied territories to Ukraine and the payment of reparations
He wrote about this on his personal website.
"What are Ukraine's borders? The same as Russia's - internationally recognized, defined in 1991. We, Russia, also recognized them then. Russia should recognize these borders now. There is nothing to discuss here," Navalny said.
It should be noted that the 1991 borders of Ukraine also included Crimea.
The Russian opposition leader noted that Russia does not need new territories.
Navalny also called for "leaving Ukraine alone and allowing it to develop as its people wish."
According to him, Russia will inevitably lose, so it must stop the bloodshed now.
"Stop the aggression, end the war and withdraw all Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine," the oppositionist wrote.
He also called for a fair mechanism to compensate for the damage caused.
In 2014, Navalny said that Crimea is not a sandwich to be passed from one hand to another.
