US to replace battle group that trains Ukrainian military in Germany
The Pentagon has announced plans to rotate the American combat group that trains the Ukrainian Armed Forces at a training ground in Grafenwoehr, Germany
General Patrick Ryder, a Pentagon spokesman, said this during a press briefing.
"At the end of this month, the Arkansas Army National Guard's 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team will replace the New York Army National Guard’s 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and assume command of the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine at Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany," he said.
This New York-based battlegroup took over the leadership of the JMTGU in August 2022.
"We look forward to the arrival of the 39th and the continuation of the important work to provide Ukraine what it needs in terms of training," Ryder said.
