Ukrainian tank crews complete Challenger 2 training in UK, return home
For several weeks, British military instructors have been training Ukrainian military how to operate tanks and fight enemy armour
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this.
It is noted that the training in the UK for Ukrainian soldiers began shortly after the announcement in January that Great Britain would provide Ukraine with 14 Challenger 2 tanks, as well as ammunition and spare parts.
“UK military instructors have been training Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel for several weeks on how to operate tanks and fight enemy ones. The training included how to command, drive and work together as a crew of a Challenger 2 tank, as well as effectively identify and engage targets,” the report says.
The General Staff noted that the Challenger 2 marks a significant change in the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This weapon will provide the Defense Forces with better protection for crews, offering them one of the most modern and advanced firing systems in the world.
Upon returning home, the Ukrainians will pass on their experience to their fellow soldiers.
