Russian Kalibr missiles less effective, but still a threat - Ukrainian Navy
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian Kalibr missiles have lost some effectiveness, but they remain a threat to the Ukrainian cities
Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk stated this.
"This is still a dangerous weapon, but its effectiveness has decreased since the full-scale invasion began. However, we shouldn't rule it out, as it's a powerful and widely available weapon, and they have eight missile carriers in the Black Sea," he said.
Pletenchuk explained that the Russians have understood that using Kalibr missiles independently is not very effective. In the last two attacks, Ukrainian air defenses destroyed all the Kalibr missiles fired by Russia.
However, the Kalibr missiles could still be used in combined attacks.
"We shouldn’t rule out the possibility that they might also use them in training or operational drills, to teach their sailors how to launch them. But again, the effectiveness of these missiles is questionable," he added.
- On November 12, Russia launched attack drones and missiles at Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Kyiv. One person was injured in the Kyiv region.
