North Korea's war experience threatens global security — Zelenskyy
The combat experience that North Korean troops are gaining in the war against Ukraine poses a direct threat to the security of the U.S., the Indo-Pacific region, and many other countries.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in an interview with AP.
He emphasized that for the first time in many decades, Russia has openly allied with Iran and North Korea — not only in secret arms deals but also directly in war. In particular, Iran supplies weapons, while North Korea provides both weapons and troops.
"This is no longer just about Ukraine; it is a military alliance against the entire West, especially against the United States," Zelenskyy stressed.
He noted that North Korean troops are actively learning in this war, which poses a serious global threat. They arrived unprepared, but like Russian troops, they are not allowed to retreat — commanders execute their soldiers for attempting to withdraw. However, North Korean troops are adapting, gaining real combat experience, and acquiring critical military skills, the president explained.
"Combat tactics, drone warfare strategies, and battlefield survival skills that they acquire in Ukraine will be taken back to North Korea and integrated into their military. This poses a direct threat to the security of the U.S., the Indo-Pacific region, and many other countries," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
- Among North Korean troops that Russia has deployed in the war against Ukraine, rotation measures are currently being carried out due to heavy personnel losses, according to Ukrainian intelligence official Andrii Yusov.
