Kellogg made this statement in an interview with Fox News.
“It is in the national security interest of the United States to resolve the Russia-Ukraine war. If we can stop this war, it will benefit the entire world, including the United States,” he said.
Kellogg added that “achieving a ceasefire and lasting peace is possible within months, not years.”
According to him, to achieve this, Trump “will create leverage for both Kyiv and Moscow” because “the president knows where and how to apply pressure.”
“He is skilled at making deals,” the U.S. special representative emphasized.
At the same time, Keith Kellogg noted that the decision on possible additional sanctions against Russia to achieve progress in ending the war “rests with President Trump.”
- On January 31, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that his administration had held “very serious” discussions with Russia. He expressed hope that, together with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, he would accomplish something “significant” to end the war.
