US sets out scenario for using nuclear weapons
The US has stated that it can only use nuclear weapons in extraordinary circumstances.

This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a speech at the UN headquarters in New York at a conference of countries participating in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), reports RBC-Ukraine.
"The United States would consider the possibility of using nuclear weapons only under extraordinary circumstances, to protect the vital interests of the United States, allies and partners," he emphasized.
According to Blinken, the role of the US strategic nuclear force is to deter nuclear attacks against the country as well as its allies and partners.
