We need to show Trump that Ukraine's victory means opportunities for U.S. business – former MP
Oksana Yurynets, who served as an MP and as head of the Ukrainian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, discussed how Ukraine could establish cooperation with the new U.S. president
She shared her opinions on Espreso TV.
"Given Trump's policies, we need to demonstrate that Ukraine's victory opens up new opportunities for American businesses," Yurynets explained. "Trump, as a politician, will be focused on securing favorable deals for himself. Why do we keep talking about NATO in parallel? Because it's a 'security umbrella' that enables businesses to grow and investments to flow into the region."
Ukraine has abundant resources that, with the help of U.S. technology, can provide the economic boost needed for the country’s recovery and development. Yurynets believes that Ukraine must speak to the United States and the ruling party using the language of numbers and provide strong arguments about the benefits of Ukraine's victory.
"The newly elected president wants to show that he can make America stronger. This is democracy in action. While we don’t influence the election outcome, we can effectively engage and connect businesses," she added.
For example, after liberating eastern Ukraine, the region could be offered for shale gas extraction, Yurynets noted.
"These territories will require significant investments, and the United States is in a position to provide them. In addition, Ukraine has skilled, patriotic people who are dedicated to defending their country and ready to build successful businesses," the former MP concluded.
