US reacts to drone exploding over Kremlin — no signs Ukraine is behind this "attack"
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is familiar with reports of a drone explosion over the Kremlin on the night of May 3. And the chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, Mark Warner, says that there are no signs that Ukraine could be behind the "attack"
CNN writes about this with reference to US Sen. Mark Warner.
“We still don’t have much information,” Warner said. “At least at this point, no indication it was sourced by the Ukrainians.”
He also told reporters there is “no indication yet” that Ukraine is behind an alleged drone strike on the Kremlin.
When asked whether the US special services rule out the idea that Ukraine is behind the alleged attack, Warner again stressed it was “too early to know for sure — but there was no indication they were.”
Prior to that, Warner attended a closed-door briefing with CIA Director William Burns on an alleged nighttime UAV attack on the Kremlin.
Ukrinform reported that US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, responded to the earlier attack.
He stated that he has come across these reports, but cannot verify them in any way. Blinken emphasized the need to be cautious regarding information coming from the Kremlin and emphasized the importance of relying on verified facts, which may become clearer in due course.
Additionally, the US Secretary of State highlighted that the Russian Federation consistently targets Ukraine, not only its brave Armed Forces but also its civilians. He emphasized that it is Ukraine's prerogative to determine how it will defend itself and regain the territory unlawfully seized by Russia over the past 14 months and since 2014.
