US, Europe to help restore Ukraine's energy system
The US government and EU representatives will provide assistance to restore Ukraine's energy system, according to Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko
Halushchenko held emergency telephone conversations with the European Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, and the leadership of the US Department of Energy about the consequences of missile attacks on the Ukrainian energy system, as a result of which most consumers were cut off.
The minister emphasized the need for support from international partners.
"We are grateful for the equipment and materials that have already been delivered to Ukraine. At the same time, today we have an urgent need for high-voltage equipment to restore and stabilize the power system," Halushchenko emphasized.
The partners pledged their "full support and readiness to take appropriate measures to assist Ukraine's energy sector."
The parties also agreed on further communication to coordinate the next steps to support Ukraine.

On the afternoon of November 23, the Russian Federation launched a massive attack on Ukraine. In the Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions, the air defense was operating. However, the Russian forces hit an infrastructure facility and a two-story building in Kyiv, and also fired at a residential building in Vyshhorod.

Power outages began throughout Ukraine. The city of Khmelnytskyi was completely left without electricity. In Kharkiv, due to the lack of electricity, the subway and all electric transport stopped. Also, due to the enemy attack in the West of Ukraine, power outages occurred.

Already in the evening, electricity supply began to be supplied to various parts of Ukraine, in particular to Odesa, Kyiv, Lviv, Volyn, the Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi regions. President Zelenskyy spoke in detail about the state of restoration of energy supply in the regions.

On November 24, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff clarified that on November 23, the Russian occupying forces launched 67 cruise missiles and up to 10 Lancet attack UAVs. 51 missiles and 5 specified drones were shot down by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
