Europe unable to fully replace U.S. aid to Ukraine - Defense Express
Defense Express Military expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi has stated that the United States will inevitably have to reduce its military aid to Ukraine
He shared his opinions on Espreso TV.
"No country in Europe, or European countries as a whole, will be able to fully replace the military assistance the U.S. has been providing to Ukraine. It's important to note that any U.S. administration - even if Kamala Harris had won the election - would eventually have been forced to cut military aid to Ukraine. This is an unavoidable reality. We're primarily talking about ammunition, equipment, and other types of weapons. The U.S. stockpiles of weapons have been depleted, and it takes time to produce new ones. On top of that, American analysts are increasingly arguing that the United States should withdraw from Europe and stop ensuring the security of the continent. They believe that Europe should deal with its problems on its own,” Kyrychevskyi said.
The expert emphasized that the U.S. military doctrine does not focus on the destruction of the enemy, which is why the Biden administration has always aimed to provide Ukraine with support strictly for defense purposes.
“Regardless of who wins the presidential election, this is the stance the new administration will likely adopt. It’s also important to note that modern military strategy no longer includes the concept of destroying the enemy; rather, it focuses on wearing down the opponent. This explains the Biden administration's position, which has consistently sought to enable us to defend ourselves against the Russians, rather than to defeat Ukraine,” he added.
