Ukrainian government to boycott international events in Poland involving Ukrainian politicians
Poland and Hungary want to restrict grain imports from Ukraine, contrary to EU rules. Part of the reason for this is populist manipulation before the upcoming elections in Poland
In response, the Ukrainian government decided to boycott international events in Poland where Ukrainian politicians are scheduled to participate. Even those politicians who would like to participate in such events to defend Ukraine's position are being illegally restricted from traveling to Poland.
As a co-chair of the Ukrainian-Polish inter-parliamentary group, I consider this a serious mistake by the Ukrainian authorities. This behavior of the ruling party in Ukraine will only strengthen anti-Ukrainian tendencies in Polish politics. Only dialogue and cooperation to protect both Ukraine and Europe from Russian aggression, and not provoked conflicts to the delight of Russia, should be a priority for both Polish and Ukrainian politics.
