Ukrainian defenders train to destroy hostile airborne troops in Chornobyl zone
Training activities to counter hostile airborne assault has been conducted in Kyiv region
This was reported by the Joint Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
A joint training of forces and means performing tasks in the Chornobyl zone to protect an important state critical infrastructure facility was conducted.
Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, the Security Service and the National Police took part in the training.
During the training, they practiced a list of issues related to combating airborne attack and destroying the hostile who tried to make an airborne assault.
"The unit commanders performed tasks to prevent the seizure of an important state facility, using forces and means in accordance with their assignment. These trainings were conducted in accordance with the units' combat training plans and will continue in the future to improve defense capabilities. We have adopted this approach from the leading NATO member states. Its effectiveness lies in the fact that each unit and each serviceman works to acquire the capabilities to perform a whole range of tasks," said Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces.
