Ukrainian defenders face well-trained Russian soldiers in Kharkiv region

Yuriy Korsunov, officer of Izium Territorial Defense Forces Battalion, told this live on air of the Espreso TV channel.

"In our area we encounter fairly well-prepared Russian occupying forces from among the convicts, who have already gained experience, and professional Russian soldiers as well. The cases when they run away from their positions are quite rare, usually they fight to the last," he emphasized.

According to Yuriy Korsunov, Ukrainian military destroys Russian invading forces or captures the wounded. There are no mass desertions from the battlefield among the Russian military there. He noted that fundamental confrontation between Ukrainians and Russians continues.

"They (Russian occupying forces, - ed.) are already careful with their equipment, they do not move in columns. They only approach on foot, they try to regroup on foot, they approach from a long distance, 3-4 km, so that their equipment does not come under our artillery fire," he noted.
