Ukrainian Army's long-range systems, aviation play key role in breaking Russian occupation forces' hold on Dnipro's right bank - Zgurets
The director of the information and consulting company Defense Express Serhiy Zgurets believes that the narrowing of the Russian section on the Dnipro's right bank will give more opportunities to Ukraine's use of HIMARS, Su-25, MiG-29 and Su-27 and conventional artillery.
He expressed this opinion on Espreso.
"On the right bank of the Dnipro River in the southern direction, where there is a steppe and a bunch of small rivers, the Ukrainian army demonstrates two approaches. The first is the use of long-range systems along the entire depth of the impression, because the section with the Russian group on the right bank was 150 km long and 60 km wide km, and now, I think, we are already talking about a length of 120 km, and the width narrows to about 40 km. We should push it to 20-25 km, and then not only HIMARS, but also ordinary artillery will be able to work," noted military expert.
Serhii Zgurets noted that aviation works in the same way on the right bank. There are Su-25s, which perform quite dangerous operations, dropping aerial bombs on the enemy, and MiG-29s and Su-27s are also operating, which destroy the enemy's air defense systems with HARM missiles.
"Maintaining such dynamics is an important component in breaking the resistance of the Russian forces on the right bank. Also, I think that this tactic will be applied on the left bank as well. As for Kherson, the movement of our units to Berislav, which carries a significant risk of cutting off the enemy group and then the encirclement two cauldrons, will affect the defense position of Kherson. We need to create the same logic as around Izyum, when, covering the territory, we do not resort to direct frontal attacks, but create conditions for the enemy to leave the cities it holds on his own. I think that such a strategy will be used in relation to Kherson," Zgurets commented.
