Ukraine's Prime Minister comments on 3 areas of financial Ramstein's work for international support of Ukraine
Denys Shmyhal, Ukrainian Prime Minister, says that the G7 has created a financial Ramstein in which the EU and G7 countries, the IMF, the EIB, the EBRD, and the OECD will cooperate to provide financial support to Ukraine
He shared the information at a government meeting on January 24.
The prime minister also spoke about 3 areas of the platform's activities, including short-term and long-term support for Ukraine, international financing and coordination of reforms and private sector development.
"We expect that the first meeting of the platform's steering secretariat will take place this week. The EU and G7 countries, the IMF, the EIB, the EBRD, the OECD and other international financial organizations will cooperate in the format of a financial Ramstein," said Shmyhal.
He also explained that both the energy and financial Ramsteins are designed to provide additional support to Ukraine and help the government fulfill 2 main tasks for the country today.
"The first task is to fully fund all critical expenditures, especially with regard to recovery projects. The second task is the successful completion of the heating season and the preservation of the integrity of our energy system," Ukraine’s prime minister said.
Shmyhal also noted that Ukraine's minimum funding needs this year are USD 38 billion to finance the budget deficit and USD 17 billion for priority recovery.
