Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense signs 16 state contracts with Ukrainian drone manufacturers
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has signed 16 state contracts with Ukrainian UAV manufacturers, as it will increase purchases of drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2023
This was reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that during a joint meeting of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s representatives, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, domestic UAV developers and manufacturers, the needs and requests of the Ukrainian army were discussed.
In this regard, the Ministry of Defense will increase purchases of UAVs for Ukrainian defenders in 2023. It is planned to spend about UAH 20 billion on this segment.
The parties also discussed deepening cooperation with Ukrainian UAV developers and manufacturers. Thus, 16 agreements have been signed with domestic drone manufacturers recently.
Currently, the procedure for approving UAVs for use in the army in Ukraine is considered the simplest in Europe, as it takes several weeks instead of a year and a half or two. In particular, from November 2022 to January 2023, the Ministry of Defense received 75 applications for UAVs of various types from Ukrainian manufacturers. 13 of them have already been codified and technical specifications approved. 3 more types of drones are being codified.
