Ukraine will receive Western aircraft in second half of 2023 under optimistic scenario – MP Venislavskyi
The issue of the aircraft will definitely be resolved. However, they are needed today but Ukraine will receive them in the second half of the year in the best case scenario
A member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, MP Fedir Venislavskyi stated this on Espreso TV.
“I have no doubt that Ukraine will receive aircraft, longer-range artillery systems and missiles. The nuances are that our partners make decisions three to four months late,” he said.
Venislavskyi cited the examples of Germany and the United States.
“Initially, Ukraine received nothing from Germany except first aid kits, helmets, and bulletproof vests. Then came ammunition and self-propelled artillery systems. Now we are getting tanks and discussing airplanes. It's the same with the United States – first we received small arms, anti-tank grenade launchers and man-portable air defense systems, and now it's a fait accompli that we will receive the Patriot system. In the summer, there were many skeptical statements and assessments about this. Therefore, the issue of aircraft will definitely be resolved, but we need them today. Optimistically, we will receive them in the second half of the year,” summarized the MP.
