Ukrainian exports by sea transport reach pre-war level

In January 2024, Ukraine reached the volume of exports by sea as before the full-scale war.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Government Portal reports.

"In January, we reached pre-war export volumes by sea, and in terms of total exports, we are already approaching the figures we had before the full-scale invasion," Shmyhal said.

The Prime Minister noted that more than two-thirds of Ukraine's maritime exports are agricultural products.

"Six months ago, we lifted the blockade of the Black Sea and intensified Ukrainian maritime trade. At the same time, we managed to launch a project to insure our exports against military risks. It is about ensuring ships calling at our ports. More than 660 ships have already sailed through the new grain corridor, transporting about 20 million tons of cargo to 32 countries. 70% of these cargoes are agricultural products of our agricultural producers," said Shmyhal.

It is also well suited for clearing large areas and is safe to operate as it is remotely controlled. The system can clear up to 4000 square meters per hour, including on steep slopes. The EU will also train Ukrainian operators who will work with the MV-10 system.

Baykar builds plant in Ukraine and to invest $95.5 million

The Turkish company Baykar has begun construction of a plant in Ukraine that will employ about 500 people.

Valerii Riabykh, a military expert and development director of the Defense Express information and consulting company, said this on Espreso TV.

"The Turkish company Baykar Makina continues to implement the agreements that were concluded earlier. According to the company's representative, the construction of this enterprise in Ukraine is now proceeding according to the planned schedule. The company is making its own investments in the plant, about $95.5 million," he said.

Earlier it was reported about the plans to commission this enterprise in 2025, the Defense Express expert noted.

"Baykar Makina, with state support, is not afraid to invest in the company and deploy it directly in our country. They are confident in the implementation of this project, which will employ about 500 people. Probably, drones will be manufactured at a fairly strong pace, we are talking about the production of up to 10 Bayraktar TB2 or even Bayraktar TB3 drones in Ukraine," Riabykh said.

Ukrainian flag in Krynky is response to Russian propaganda

Operational Command South’s spokesperson Natalia Humeniuk says that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River and are working to expand it

She said this on Espreso TV.

"The installation of the Ukrainian flag in Krynky is a response to the challenges posed by enemy propaganda in the information society. It is trying to convince the local population in the temporarily occupied territories that they are abandoned, that the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been driven out of their positions, and that the Russians are dominating there. But everyone saw that there was a Ukrainian flag, Ukrainian resistance, and Ukrainian Defense Forces soldiers. The two assaults that the Russian army managed to carry out yesterday were ineffective and disastrous for it," noted Humeniuk.

According to the Operational Command South’s press center head, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River and are working to expand it.

"The draft law was adopted without the committee's proposals. Then amendments will be made within 14 days until February 21, and then the second reading. That is, most likely, the bill will be adopted as a whole in the last week of February, signed in early March, and will come into force in a month, that is, in April," the politician wrote.
