Two men are found tortured, handcuffed in liberated Kharkiv region
Ukrainian law enforcement officers have found two men who were handcuffed by the invading Russian forces in the newly liberated Kharkiv region
This is reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers found two dead men at a recreation center in the village of Novoplatonivka. The bodies were found in a four-meter pit.
"The left hand of one of the deceased was handcuffed to the right hand of the other. Also, during the examination of the skull of one of the men, a fracture of the left temporal area was found, and the second one had a gunshot wound to the skull," the report says.
The investigation established that the men were killed by Russian Special Forces, which during the occupation were based there "in the composition of 250-350 people with periodic rotation."
Now the bodies of the dead have been sent for examination.
"Under the procedural leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder," the prosecutor's office added.
