Truce does not mean that fighting will stop - political scientist Sumlennyi
Political scientist Serhiy Sumlennyi believes that Russia will never give up on trying to seize the entire Ukraine
He shared his opinions with Espresso TV.
"Unfortunately, in the situation of Russia's war against Ukraine, a truce will not mean the end of hostilities. If the fighting ends, there will be no peace. Russia will continue to torture, abduct and persecute civilians on the occupied territories. Russia will continue to destroy Ukrainian culture and nation. That is, it is the same as if the Nazis had invaded Europe and won World War II. You cannot call such things peace," Sumlennyi explained.
The political scientist noted that German society does not understand that a truce with Russia will not stop the war.
"Many people in Germany do not understand this position. There are, of course, people who understand that a truce with Russia will not stop the war, but they are a minority. This position of German society is due to the fact that Germany has never fought a war for its own freedom," he added.
