The response to Russia's actions must be additional mobilization and more weapons for units - Security Service Colonel Kostenko
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have only 200,000 of the 700,000 mobilized pieces of heavy equipment. In order to respond to Russia's mobilization, more weapons are needed.
Roman Kostenko, colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine and People's Deputy reports on "Espreso.TV" live on air.
"You can't underestimate the enemy. We have to understand that Russia is still quite a resourceful country and can produce some types of weapons that can come and fight here. What is an increase in numbers? This is more tank crews. gun calculations. This is a resource that will be ready to cause harm. Plus more people trampling our land and hovering over our civilian population under occupation," he noted.
Kostenko considers this a problem that needs to be resolved.
"Somewhere, I think, by auxiliary or additional mobilization, and somewhere by arming already mobilized servicemen who are in units and undergoing training. I think that now there are 700,000 mobilized in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but we do not have enough equipment. It is possible to provide up to 200,000 people with it. All the others are infantry, which must be provided with heavy equipment to form units. On the battlefield, the bigger role is not played by the soldier, but by artillery, aviation and heavy equipment," the colonel concluded.
