Territorial Defense forces master heavy weapons
Training takes place in cities away from the frontline on special simulators.
The Espreso.West journalist attended the training.
Soldiers of the Territorial Defense forces are mastering heavy weapons. Training takes place in the rear cities on special simulators. The Igla portable anti-aircraft missile system and anti-tank weapons are being mastered in special equipment. In this way, servicemen can feel almost like they are on the battlefield.
Oleksandr, a serviceman, is learning to shoot down air targets. Prior to the full-scale invasion, the man was involved in 2D and 3D design. He also drew computer games. In March he joined the Territorial Defense forces, although he had no combat experience.
"I joined the Territorial Defense forces voluntarily," says Oleksandr. "Russia attacked Ukraine and I had to defend my country. I'm currently gaining military experience here. It's important to cover the sky on your own."
Manager Myroslav masters the anti-tank missile system. Until February 24, he had nothing to do with the military. During his three months in the defense unit, the boy gained basic knowledge about weapons and learned to use something.
"Our training here is as diverse as possible," says Myroslav. "From medical training to portable missile systems. Topography, orienteering, how to help yourself and your friends. We master everything. "
Experienced instructors have been working with terrorists for several months now. They say there are enough teaching aids. Therefore, they try to give newcomers maximum information so that they are effective in combat and, if necessary, can learn to use the technique of fellows.
"The simulators work entirely on a computer system," says the instructor.
Daily training gives results. The guys are confident in their abilities and skillfully hit the target. Soon these men will go to the war zone to help other defenders of Ukraine drive invading Russian forces out of our land.
