Some units are ordered to withdraw from Bakhmut to more secure positions - AFU commander
Some Ukrainian units have been ordered to leave Bakhmut for a rotation to more secure areas
Denys Yaroslavskyi, commander of Ukraine's Armed Forces, said this on Espreso TV.
“We received an order for some units to go on rotation to more secure areas. Our unit was withdrawn to regroup. Since the morning, the situation has been very difficult in all directions towards Bakhmut,” he said.
According to the commander, it is 700 meters from the contact line to the key road.
“There is shelling from large-caliber machine guns already on the highway. I'm not talking about tank and mortar attacks. The enemy is doing everything to take the city in an operational ring and to control all key routes. The information that they are saving their forces is not true - they are throwing all their troops, they are attacking, and every minute there are attempts to surround and take the territory. They are leaving everyone and everything behind, not sparing a single person,” Yaroslavskyi summarized.
