Slovakia plans to send MiG-29 to Ukraine, preparations may begin soon
Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Káčer has discussed sending MiG-29s to Ukraine with President Zelenskyy, and preparations may begin in the near future.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Rastislav Káčer, told about this in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
"We have not yet handed you the MiG-29. But we are ready to do this. We are talking to our NATO partners about how to do this. We had a very meaningful conversation with your president. My defense minister explained to your president how we can do this. And I think that in the coming weeks, a Ukrainian delegation will come to Slovakia, and we, together with our American friends, will work to make this a reality," Káčer said.
He emphasized that on December 7, Slovakia approved "a couple of thousand missiles" for the MiG-29.
In addition, Zelenskyy and Káčer discussed sending warplanes to Ukraine.
"But we also discussed this with President Zelenskyy in quite some detail. And I believe I must keep how it will be done secret in order not to jeopardize it. But I will say that we had a very, very good exchange of views with President Zelensky about how we will do this. So I am very optimistic, I think this will also be done soon, and warplanes will appear in Ukraine," Káčer noted.
