Sean Penn presents Zelenskyy with his Oscar award as symbol of faith in Ukraine
American actor and producer Sean Penn has already handed over his Oscar statuette to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a symbol of faith in Ukraine's victory

President Zelenskyy met with the American actor, film director, screenwriter and producer, an the Oscar award winner Sean Penn, who came to Ukraine for the third time during the full-scale war with the Russian Federation.
“The American star brought his Oscar statuette and handed it to the president as a symbol of faith in the victory of our country. The award will remain in Ukraine until the end of the war,” the presidential press service said.
Instead, Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented Sean Penn with the Order of Merit III degree, which awarded the actor for his help in strengthening interstate cooperation, support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and contribution to the popularization of the Ukrainian state in the world.
Zelenskyy thanked Sean Penn for the attention and support of Ukraine and its people since the beginning of this war.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Sean Penn also visited the Alley of Courage in the capital's Constitution Square, where, next to the names of many world leaders who helped Ukraine during the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion, there is a plaque with the name of Sean Penn.
The head of state emphasized that the Alley of Courage begins precisely with the plaque dedicated to the American actor and director, because he visited Ukraine on the first day of the Russian invasion, February 24, to record the events and convey the truth about Russia's aggression to the world.
“We are extremely grateful to all the people who came in person to support Ukraine and our citizens. And we wanted to have a place thanks to which modern and future generations of Ukrainians will remember those brave people who were with Ukraine from the very beginning,” Zelenskyy said
