Russia's massive strikes on Ukraine should be considered war crimes - Andrey Piontkovsky

The days of Russia's massive missile strikes on Ukraine should have been used to maximize world’s unity to condemn this war crime and not to find out the details of the missile crash in Poland

This was stated by US-based Russian political analyst Andrey Piontkovsky on the air of the  "Studio West with Antin Borkovsky" program on the Espreso TV channel.

The political scientist commented on the situation with the fall of Russian missiles in Poland and the different reactions of Ukraine and the West.

"This is the most offensive thing, and Russian propaganda has taken excellent advantage of it. The point of view that the collective West has now settled on, stated in the Security Council, is that, in any case, Russia is to blame for unleashing this war. Ukraine has the right to defend its territory by all means, which politically satisfies us. I am saddened that this worked for Moscow in the sense that the entire focus of the world's public attention was diverted for several days to this event when the grand event is the restoration of the program of the genocide of the Ukrainian people and the destruction of Ukraine's infrastructure after a 15-day break," Piontkovsky said.

In his opinion, these days should have been used to maximize the unity of the West and the entire free world to condemn this war crime of Russia.

"They should have described it as a war crime, and develop adequate measures to protect Ukraine from this threat, namely: the provision of missile defence systems and the provision of long-range missiles that will deter Russia from such attacks, which is a more radical solution to the problem. Russia should know that for an attack on Kyiv, they can get an attack on Moscow. This is a more critical task now than continuing to find out the details of the Polish incident," the political scientist summed up.
