Russia drops bombs on Vovchansk: family trapped under rubble, dead and injured reported
On the morning of Sunday, May 12, Russian troops attacked houses in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, killing a woman and injuring two other people
Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported the information.
It noted that due to Russia’s bombing of the town, dozens of private and multi-storey residential buildings were partially or fully destroyed.
A family of four was trapped under the rubble of one of the residential buildings and needed help. Rescuers, law enforcement officers and a medical team from the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine arrived at the scene.

The owner of the house was able to get out from under the rubble on his own before the rescuers arrived. Rescuers rescued two men from under the rubble of the destroyed structures, but a 74-year-old woman died under the rubble of the house.
After rescuing the family, the rescuers provided first aid to the victims and evacuated them from the attack site to a safer location.

On Saturday, April 11, Russian troops struck Vovchansk and the surrounding area with over 20 guided aerial bombs, resulting in two deaths. 441 people were evacuated from the community.
