Russian troops use land corridor to reinforce weapons and resume positions on Kinburn Spit - Ukraine’s Defense Forces
Russian troops are trying to strengthen their positions on the Kinburn Spit by deploying weapons through the land corridor
This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, during the telethon.
"On the Kinburn Spit, the enemy is trying to restore its positions, reinforcing its weapons using the land corridor. They are trying to attack and take revenge on the local residents of Ochakiv district because they suffer from attacks on their positions," said Humeniuk.
She noted that over the past day, Russian forces shelled Ochakiv twice. Its water area was under enemy attack three times. According to Humeniuk, the invaders are trying to attack only civilians in this way.
"Shells are hitting in the middle of the city, and the recreational area is under attack again. All this shows that the coast is indeed a danger zone," emphasized Humeniuk.
According to her, it is currently inappropriate to launch the resort season in the south. The military command has already made a lot of comments to local authorities. It has emphasized the aspects in which it sees risks in this area.
"The security component should come first, it's people's lives. Therefore, it is probably inappropriate to provide for the gathering of people in the area under enemy fire. These are the recommendations that were provided to the local authorities, so we believe they will make a balanced decision," summarized Humeniuk.
