Russian troop build-up underway in Mykolaiv direction - Ukrainian Special Forces Brigade Officer
Taras Berezovets, an officer with Ukraine's 1st Detached Special Forces Brigade named after Ivan Bohun, says that the Mykolaiv direction is extremely important for Russia, because control over Mykolaiv would open up the route to Odesa
He shared this information with Espreso TV.
"Today, the situation in the South is rather complicated due to the fact that the Russian troops have accumulated a serious force here, the basis of which is the paratroopers. That is, those who will launch assault offensive actions. In addition, there is a serious accumulation of barrel and jet artillery in the Southern direction, against Mykolaiv, as well as against Kryvyi Rih and Zaporizhzhia", the officer noted.
Taras Berezovets noted that due to the last rainy week, the Russians were waiting for dry weather for the offensive, which may take place within three or four days.
"We are currently recording a significant increase in the number of shelling of military and civilian infrastructure, and the enemy is also conducting a large amount of combat reconnaissance to identify our firing points. The Russians have increased their contingent in this direction in fact four times over the past two weeks. The Mykolaiv direction is extremely important for them, because the probable control over Mykolaiv opens the enemy's road to Odesa, in addition, control over nuclear power plants is important to the Russians and they are interested in access to the South Ukrainian NPP", Berezovets explained.
