The website of the SBU shared information.
A citizen of the Russian Federation, who was hiding on the territory of Ukraine from law enforcement officers of the Republic of Lithuania, was detained in Kyiv.
He was wanted internationally for committing serious crimes related to financial instruments. The SBU reported that the perpetrator tried to legalize in Khmelnytskyi, but he did not succeed and fled to Kyiv. There he was detained by employees of the Khmelnytskyi SBU Department under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office.
Currently, the issue of applying extradition arrest to a foreigner is being resolved. The possible involvement of the detainee in committing crimes in Ukraine is also being checked.
