Russian army remains determined to reclaim lost positions south of Kotlyne
Serhiy Tsekhotsky, a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman from the Pokrovsk direction, noted that Russia is trying to regain control near Kotlyne and the road to Pokrovsk to complicate the logistical routes for the Ukrainian forces
"After the liberation of the settlement of Kotlyne in the Pokrovsk direction, the situation in this area remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, although the Russians continues to try to reclaim lost positions, but without success. Currently, we are observing the enemy's attempts to storm areas south of Kotlyne. Just yesterday, on February 26, around 30 Russian soldiers attempted an assault, but of course, all were eliminated. They failed there, so this morning they tried to attack in another location," the Ukrainian serviceman commented.
According to him, the Russian forces are aware of what awaits them, but Russian army commanders manage to send their troops to the front lines through coercion, blackmail under various pretexts, and even execution. It should be noted that a third of all combat encounters on the Russian-Ukrainian front occur in the Pokrovsk direction.
"Regarding the importance of Kotlyne and the road near this settlement for the Russia, the first is logistics, which they aimed to complicate for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and they could further use it to reach other logistical routes.
The second is the isolation of Pokrovsk, which they have long intended. The Russian army has not succeeded in achieving this, not only yesterday or the day before, such attempts have been ongoing for a long time. The skill of the Ukrainian General Staff, which plans such operations, as well as our commanders on the ground, regulate and concentrate all forces and resources to ensure that the enemy cannot recover. The entire area visible on the map is under the constant control of our units, and all movements of enemy personnel and equipment are immediately reported, with corresponding decisions made right away," Serhiy Tsekhotsky concluded.
- A growing trend of exhaustion is evident within the Russian army, as their offensive near Pokrovsk continues to falter.
