Russian forces shell UN humanitarian mission during 'Christmas ceasefire'
On the morning of January 7, Russian forces fired at the UN humanitarian mission carrying aid to the frontline town of Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia region
Oleksandr Starukh, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this on the air of the telethon.
“Unfortunately, the aggressor country, which promised not to shoot, even fired at the UN humanitarian mission,” the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration said.
He said: despite the agreement, the invading Russian forces attacked the UN humanitarian mission, which was carrying aid to the frontline Orikhiv. The town regularly suffers from shelling by the Russian troops.
It is noted that Denise Brown, the UN coordinator in Ukraine, was also part of the mission.
Oleksandr Starukh emphasized: the Russian forces continue to violate the rules of warfare and attack communities.
“Russia is an 'Orthodox Taliban' that does not understand anything sacred and disregards all the rules of human coexistence,” he emphasized.
