Russian forces cannot cut off Bakhmut's logistics - former Azov regiment commander Zhorin
Former commander of the Azov regiment, Major Maksym Zhorin says Ukraine's Armed Forces are being supplied with everything they need in the Bakhmut direction, Donetsk region
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The situation is difficult around Bakhmut and in the city. Despite the huge losses, the enemy is sending more and more units every day, but cannot achieve its goals. To the north of Bakhmut, the Russian troops, unfortunately, are advancing 50 meters. The situation is different to the south of Bakhmut, in some areas the Ukrainian Armed Forces are making progress,” Zhorin noted.
The ex-commander of the Azov regiment also added that there is no critical situation around Bakhmut, but the fighting continues daily.
“The enemy dreamed of cutting off Bakhmut's logistics and hoped to capture it, but failed. There are roads that are partially under enemy fire control, but this is not critical. Despite the enemy's temporary successes, the invading forces have not been able to cut the logistics of Bakhmut and will not be able to. The city is being supplied, the wounded are being evacuated, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are being supplied with equipment and ammunition. It is possible to hold positions in and around Bakhmut,” Zhorin emphasized.
