Russian business supporting Putin regime must pay for war in Ukraine - UkraineInvest CEO Tsivkach
UkraineInvest CEO Serhiy Tsivkach told Espreso who should pay for the county's post-war reconstruction and which companies are ready to invest in Ukraine
The UkraineInvest executive director claims that Ukraine needs financial assistance from partner countries, but Russia has to pay the most for the war it started.
“The key financial support should come from confiscated Russian assets. Money of Russian businesses that support the Russian regime, because what they did in Ukraine is unacceptable and they have to pay for that at some point, and they will. This money will be used to restore our critical infrastructure, but we also need private funds. Private money will enable Ukraine to bring our economy to a new level, as well as to bring out new technologies and new companies that will ensure access to global supply chains of Ukrainian companies and their parents from around the world,” he emphasized.
Serhiy Tsivkach notes that more than 1,000 companies have stopped business in Russia, and over 2,000 companies have stopped investment plans in Russia. Moreover, many businesses are ready to invest in Ukraine.
“The Irish Kingspan global company was one of the first ones to leave Russia and one of the first ones to announce significant investments in Ukraine. They will invest more than USD 250 million, create more than 1,000 jobs in Ukraine, and build a number of highly technological campuses to produce construction materials in Ukraine,” he concluded.
