Russian army uses five scenarios for abducting Ukrainian children
The Russian army has five main scenarios for forcibly deporting Ukrainian children to Russia
Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Daria Herasymchuk said this during her speech at the international conference in Lviv, Ukrinform reports.
"The Russians have a well-planned policy regarding Ukrainian children. Their actions are not chaotic... They have at least five scenarios for abducting Ukrainian children," she said.
Children are taken to the Russian territory after their parents are killed, or after they are separated during the so-called filtering, or kidnapped from residential institutions. There were also cases when they were taken from their families in the occupied territories under the pretense of rehabilitation in children's camps, Herasymchuk said.
"The Russians do everything possible to prevent a child from being reunited with their family. They immediately take away children's phones and do not allow them to report their location. It is very difficult to find them. Ukrainian children are scattered and constantly moved around Russian territory. As soon as we find something about children’s whereabouts, they are moved somewhere else. That is why we have returned only 307 children out of 16,000," she said.
She emphasized that "it is necessary to make a quick and effective response to the Ukrainian genocide."
"Our goal is to immediately stop the forced deportation of children. We need international help to do it," Herasymchuk added.
