U.S., EU concerned about China transferring dual-use goods to Russia for warfare
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell and European External Action Service (EEAS) Secretary General Stefano Sannino held a meeting on China. During the event, they expressed concern about China's support for Russia's war against Ukraine
This is stated in a joint press release on the U.S.-EU dialogue on China and consultations in the Indo-Pacific region, which was published on the website of the US State Department.
Campbell and Sannino expressed deep and growing concern about China's exports of a significant number of dual-use goods and items used by Russia on the battlefield against Ukraine, as well as the continued involvement of Chinese companies in sanctions evasion and circumvention.
“They recognized China’s ongoing support for Russia’s military industrial base is enabling Russia to maintain its illegal war against Ukraine, which poses a threat to transatlantic as well as global security and stability,” the statement said.
The two sides also reaffirmed their expectation that China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, should act in support of international law, including the UN Charter
“Any peace proposal in Ukraine must be based on the UN Charter and its principles, including respect for sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and in line with continued efforts to uphold the international rules-based order,” the statement said.

Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that his country would continue to promote its own vision of ending Russia's war against Ukraine. Beijing will also persuade most countries to support its proposal.
