Ukrainian UAVs hit Russian fighter jets in Krasnodar region: satellite images confirm
On May 19, Ukrainian drones attacked Russian Su-27 and Su-34 fighters at the Kushchevskaya military airfield in the Krasnodar region
Ukrainian Schemes project released fresh satellite imagery confirming the attack.
It is noted that the damage to Russian SU-type aircraft, which were located on the territory of the Kushchevskaya airfield in Russia's Krasnodar region on the night of May 19, was recorded by the Planet Labs satellite.
According to the satellite images analyzed by aviation expert Anatolii Khrapchynskyi, Ukrainian drones damaged at least two Russian fighters, Su-27 and Su-34.
"We see a Su-34 with damaged or removed wings, and a clearly damaged Su-27 in another part of the airfield. The Su-30, which has hardly changed its position since May 11 and is located next to the damaged Su-27, could also be damaged," he said.
According to him, the Kushchevskaya airfield is a training base of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School, where Russia trained future pilots. However, Russia is currently using it to attack Ukrainian positions.
The images also show that after the strikes by Ukrainian drones, most of the Russian fighters were removed from the airfield.
